This blog serves multiple purposes. It is:

-an online notebook of sorts. A place to record and take notes on things that I think are helpful and want to remember, whether they relate to fitness, psychology, or environmental concerns.

-an effort to bring my various interests under one banner and create some coherence between them. I’m constantly struck by the overlapping desires and beliefs of the the crossfit, primal/paleo nutrition and exercise, slow foods, and outdoor recreation communities. These beliefs are common ground between gym junkies, soldiers, liberals, libertarians, hippies, farmers, dirtbag climbers, and academics; people on all sides of the culture war.

-a place to spread the word. Many of the ideas and info linked to or discussed on this site has been helpful in my own life and I think they could help other people.
